GV II

Model farm buildings. Late C19. Flemish bond yellow brick with some English bond to north range, Welsh slate roofs and brick stacks with gauged brick capping. E-plan; cart sheds and machinery stores on outside of north range, feed stores and cowsheds face onto two yards. Single storey with attics. West range has Tudor-arched doorways and flat arched windows with cast- iron Gothic glazing bars, hipped dormer to roof and pyramidal roof vent with shouldered louvres. North range has four large Tudor- arched cart entries and open-fronted barn and cart shed to north side; 3 gablets with cusped vents to roof. South side of north range has covered passage with slate roof linking doors facing yards. Middle range has C20 milking parlour, partly inserted into open-fronted shelter shed. East range has stable doors and flat- arched windows with cast-iron Gothic glazing bars to horizontal sashes with alternate glazed lights, outer facade of range is windowless with recessed panels in Flemish bond. Interior has stone floors and planked doors. A good, little altered example of a model farm in the Salisbury area.
