Description
35 to 38 Silver Street is a symmetrical block of houses dating from the 18th century to early 19th century that has been altered. The building is two storeys high and constructed of brick, with only No 38 remaining unpainted and set on a stone plinth. It features an old tile roof. Originally, there were four three-light sash windows and a central panel on the first floor; however, most have been replaced with modern casements, except for No 38, which retains one range of glazing bar sashes. On the ground floor, there is a tripartite sash window to the right of the centre. No 35 has a modern shop front with a paired modern doorway to the right. The doorway of No 38 has a plain stone surround keyed into the brickwork and features a good 19th-century nine-panel door with six linenfold panels and three diamond panels.
