Description

This is a mid-17th century building, originally a single house, located on Fisherton Street. It was altered in the later 18th century. The building is two storeys high and has a stucco facade. It features a steep-pitched roof covered with old tiles, with three gabled dormers and 19th-century bargeboards. The windows are round-headed sashes; two windows on the first floor of numbers 59 and 61 are blind. Number 63 has a recessed sash window with 19th-century glazing. Modern and 19th-century shop fronts are present. Internally, the building was converted into three tenements in the 18th century, and the original roof structure survives, including remains of three trusses with king posts, tie beams, and purlins. The 18th-century stairs have flat-cut balusters. Numbers 59 to 63 form a group.
