Description
No. 34 Court Hill is a house dating from the 17th century, originally timber-framed, which was raised and clad in red brick in the late 18th to early 19th century. It features a thatched roof that is hipped to the west and half-hipped to the east. The house has one ridge stack on the left side. It stands two storeys tall, with a pair of casement windows on the first floor, two triple casements, a ground floor casement pair, a door, and two triple casements. The lower openings have cambered heads. There are signs of several phases of building, including a high plinth to the right of the door, partly made of rubble stone, and straight joints in the brickwork. The original roof line is visible on the east end wall, marked by an exposed tie-beam and collar truss. The west end wall has mostly been renewed in the 20th century, and all the casements have been replaced.
