Description

The churchyard cross, located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, dates from the 14th century and is made of limestone. It features a stepped stone plinth and an octagonal base with a chamfered top. The octagonal shaft has niches on four sides, each topped with a cusped ogee design. These niches contain figures on a corbelled base, representing the Crucifixion, St. Mary, a Bishop with an unidentified figure, and two additional figures. This structure is also recognized as an ancient monument in Wiltshire, numbered 680.
