Description

The Homestead is a cottage dating from the 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and has colourwashed brick noggings, topped with a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic, featuring two bays and a gable stack, with a half-bay that contains a lobby entry. The entrance has a boarded door with a tiled pent roof above it. The windows are timber casements, and the framing consists of three panels high with corner braces. The thatch extends over a dormer that serves the chamber above the hall bay. The roof is supported by trenched purlins and has a half-hipped design. There is an added pantiled extension to the south of the stack.
