Description
Church Hatch is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with an early 19th-century rear wing. It features a timber frame with brick noggings and thatched roofs. The building has two storeys and consists of three bays, with a stack located in a half bay between the central hall bay and the north service end. The boarded door, which is lateral to the central bay, is likely not in its original position. The service and stack bays are slightly set forward, and the gable has been rebuilt with the addition of the rear wing. The framing has been much restored, with four panels high and corner braces, while the original windows have been blocked. The current leaded metal windows on the upper floor date from the 18th or early 19th century and retain their original leaded glazing. An additional brick stack has been added externally to the rear of the inner parlour. The rear wing is two storeys high, with three bays and timber windows in segmental headed openings. The range has been extended by a studio block with a roll pantiled roof.
