Description
No 1 Ash Walk is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high with an attic. The exterior is finished in pebble-dash, likely over rubble stone, and features a painted plinth. There is an uncapped pilaster strip on the right side, a small moulded stone cornice, and a plain parapet. The roof is a mansard style, covered with old tiles and hipped to the left, featuring two hipped dormers.
On the first floor, there are two full-height angular bays with three windows each, flanking a central single window. All windows are glazing bar sashes with flush moulded frames. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door set within a stone Doric surround, complete with a moulded pediment and entablature supported by three-quarter engaged columns. The building occupies an important corner site and has a return to Silver Street, where the wall is made of rubble with brick quoins. The roof appears to connect with No 50 Silver Street.
