Description

CORSHAM CHURCH SQUARE ST 8770 5/57 West monument in churchyard about 5m south-east of S. Neale monument, north of north aisle of Church of St. Bartholomew GV II

Double chest tomb, early C18, ashlar. South chest tomb has 2 south plaques, segmental-arched with keystones, imposts and foliate decoration above. Pilaster centre and angle piers. Similar end plaques. Inscription to James West died 1729. Attached to north is similar size tomb with 2 fielded plaques to north, fielded end plaques and moulded base and capstone. Inscriptions possibly dated c1690, one to J. West Senior.
