Description
The United Reform Chapel, originally a Congregational chapel, was built in 1820. It features a rendered exterior and a Welsh slate roof, with its gable end facing the road. The entrance has double half-glazed doors beneath a plain stone Tuscan portico, and above it is a late 19th-century margin pane plate glass sash window. The gable is adorned with a datestone inscribed with the year 1820 and has a coped verge topped with an urn finial. On the right and left sides, there are two segmental-headed sash windows with margin panes and keystones on the ground floor and gallery.
An attached schoolroom at the east end includes 4-pane sash windows and a brick chimney stack, along with a 20th-century lean-to extension. Inside, there is a vestibule that leads to wooden stairs ascending to the gallery. The gallery is supported by wooden columns and features original seating on three sides, with an organ loft at the east end, likely from the late 19th century. The pulpit and reading desk are situated on a dais at the east end.
