Description

The Horse and Jockey public house dates to the 18th century, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The original part of the building is two storeys and an attic, with a colourwashed limestone exterior and a stone slate roof. It features two bays, a six-panel door under a pitched canopy, and 12-pane sash windows. The roof is gambrel-shaped, with one hipped dormer and a gable stack. A 19th-century wing runs parallel to the rear, being single storey and attic with a slate roof, and a 20th-century flat-roofed addition is situated in the angle. A casement dormer with a segmental lead roof and a gable stack are found on the 19th-century wing. The interior has chamfered ceiling beams.
