Description

Fives Court Wall is a 19th-century structure made of limestone ashlar-faced rubble with a plain thin stone capping. The wall is plain and features splayed returns, standing approximately 4 meters high, with offsets at about 3 meters leading to the returns. It has a plinth that slightly projects about 750 millimeters high. The projecting 'wings' of the wall extend around 1.75 meters externally. The wall is surrounded by various later buildings or walls and is set back about 5 meters from Angel Lane. It was likely part of the garden of the Angel Inn located in Market Place.
