Description

The Crook monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 4 meters southwest of the southwest corner of the Church of St Nicholas in Bremhill, Tytherton Lucas. This monument dates from the early 19th century and is made of ashlar stone. It features a moulded base and cornice, with lyre-shaped ends that have a husk drop and two oval plaques on the north side. The spandrels display low relief ornamentation. The south plaque is plain but framed, with strips on either side. The monument bears an inscription commemorating John Crook, who died in 1834.
