Description
Woodborough Fields Bridge is an accommodation bridge built in the early 19th century, with alterations from the 20th century. It follows Rennie's standard design and is constructed from brick, featuring a single elliptical arch, a band, a solid parapet, and piers topped with stone coping. There is an additional buttress supporting the southeast pier, while the northeast pier has a return wall to the east. The towpath has a retaining wall with brick coping. There are two early 20th-century Great Western Railway weight restriction signs, one located at the northwest corner and the other at the southeast corner of the bridge. These signs are made of cast iron, shaped like lozenges, with raised lettering and mounted on iron stanchions. Additionally, there are three World War II anti-tank reinforced concrete cylinders, with two positioned at the northeast corner and one at the northwest corner of the bridge.
