Description
No. 3 Church Lane is a house dating from the late 15th century, with remodels from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building is a single storey with an attic and has three window bays. It is positioned gable end to the road, overlooking the churchyard, and is part of a group that includes Jenner's School, the master's house, the town cross, and the Church of St. Sampson. The house has three small paned windows with wood chamfered lintels facing the churchyard, along with two-light flush gabled dormers above. It also features three "S" tie rods, a hipped roof to the south, and a single ridge stack. It is said to date from around 1490.
