Description
Little Petherton is a cottage dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of flint with brick detailing, featuring Flemish brickwork on a flint base at the front. The cottage has a thatched roof and stands two storeys high with two bays. It includes a major heated room with a gable stack and an entrance, along with a minor unheated room that has been subdivided for a stair. The entrance features a 20th-century boarded door set in an open gabled porch. The windows are three- and two-light paned, with those on the ground floor having cambered half-brick segmental arches. The rear wall is timber framed and has a contemporary lean-to that was widened in the 20th century. There is a blocked door leading to the smaller room, and the right gable is in header bond. The cottage has brick offset eaves and a brick stack, with the roof hipped to the right.
