Description

Thoulstone Farmhouse is a circa 1800 farmhouse, originally listed as Thoulston Manor Farm. It is constructed of painted English garden wall bond brickwork with stone dressings, topped by a hipped tiled roof and featuring brick stacks. The house is three stories high and has three windows on its front elevation. A central 6-panelled door is topped by a pediment, with a pair of beaded sash windows on either side. A plat band runs along the first floor, above which are a pair of sashes flanking a central 12-pane sash. The second floor mirrors this pattern with a pair of 6-pane sashes either side of a central 6-pane sash. Moulded stone eaves finish the exterior.

The left return has a bay window with sashes on the front, and a 6-panelled door to the left, with 3-light flush beaded mullioned casements to the first and second floors. The right return features a 3-light mullioned and transomed beaded window to the ground and first floors, and a 3-light beaded mullioned casement to the second floor. A lean-to extension has been added to the rear. The interior remains uninspected. The property was part of the Longleat Estate until the mid-18th century.
