Description
No. 17 Leigh Road is a cottage dating from around 1700, part of a row of similar buildings. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone and has a Bridgwater tiled roof with gable end brick stacks, the right stack being rendered. The cottage is two storeys high and features three windows. The central door has six fielded panels set in a chamfered surround, topped with a flat stone hood supported by brackets. On either side of the door, there are three-light cyma-mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. The first floor has three-light mullioned casements on either side of a central two-light window, all of which also have hoodmoulds. The rear and interior were not accessible during the survey conducted in May 1987.
