Description
Storridge Farmhouse is a mid-19th century, two-storey building constructed in red brick with an "H" plan layout. It features an elegant façade facing west, with a three-course band above the ground floor. The first floor has three windows, while the ground floor has two windows flanking a central doorway; all windows are sashes with glazing bars in the upper sashes only and have brick flat arches. The slate roof has projecting eaves, brackets at the gable verges, and chimneys at the gable ends. The entrance is highlighted by a good stone doorpiece with a bolection surround, narrow panelled pilasters, and triglyph necking, along with a part-Doric frieze featuring low relief decoration and a broken segmental pediment that displays a coat of arms. Inside, there is a marble fireplace in the room to the right. The property includes a model-type farmyard and farm buildings, and Storridge Farmhouse is noted as the best example among several model-type farmhouses in Westbury.
