Description

No. 38 is a cottage located on the west side of High Street in Steeple Ashton, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of painted English garden wall bond brick and features a double Roman tiled roof with a brick stack at the rear. The building is two stories high and has four windows. To the right, there is a planked door leading to a throughway, and to the left, there is a door with six fielded panels set within a cyma-moulded architrave. Flanking these doors are 16-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are three 2-light cyma-mullioned windows with small sashes, along with a 12-pane sash window to the right. The rear and interior of the cottage were not accessible during the survey conducted in February 1987.
