Description

This is a warning stone located on the northwest side of the junction of the B3106 and B3105 in Staverton. It is likely from the mid-19th century and is made of limestone, featuring a segmental-headed pillar. The front of the stone has a cast-iron plate with raised lettering that reads, "CAUTION / ANY PERSON FOUND / TRESPASSING / OVER THESE MEADOWS / WILL BE PROSECUTED." The meadows mentioned are situated on the north side of the River Avon.
