Description
The barn at West Foscote Farm, built around 1850 for Joseph Neeld of Grittleton, is constructed from squared rubble stone and features a stone slate half-hipped roof. It has lean-to stalls on the east side, flanking a gabled cart-entry. The west side has an entry with a timber lintel and a relieving arch, along with vent loops and upper loading doors on each side. The south end displays eight tiers of dove holes arranged in a triangular pattern. The interior has not been inspected. This barn is similar in style to those found at Sevington and West Sevington Farms. Adjacent to the barn and West Foscote House is a three-sided courtyard of open-fronted former stalls, supported by circular piers and covered with stone slate roofs, with ownership now shared between West Foscote House and West Foscote Farm.
