Description

Yorke House is likely to date from around 1710, though the site itself is considerably older. The building is constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof. It has a T-plan stone chimney situated off-centre to the right. The front elevation features three windows with three lights each, plus a single window on the ground floor to the left. There is also an attic window to the right in a gable. Later inserted casements are present, as are wooden lintels. A late 19th-century glazed and gabled porch shelters a half-glazed front door.

The interior has been altered, but retains a decorative stop chamfer on the ground floor beams, a feature also found at Lower Farm. To the rear of the main building stands a three-bay outhouse, now converted. This outhouse contains a large fireplace with a bread oven and a stop-chamfered 18th-century beam.
