Description

Lower Farmhouse dates to around the 1720s, with some alterations to the front in the 19th century. It is a two-storey building constructed of rubble stone with ashlar quoins. The front has four windows; the ground floor features glazing bar sash windows, including a tripartite window to the left of centre and two segmental-headed windows. Two three-light casement windows are present on the first floor, each with a wooden lintel. The roof is covered in pantiles, with stone eaves courses and three brick chimneys. A modern porch has been added to the right of centre, and a high-pitched corrugated lean-to extends to the right. The roof also incorporates gable-lit garrets. A stair turret is located at the rear. The interior includes decorative stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, similar to those found at Yorke House, Queen's Road. The house has a through passage plan.
