Description
Knoll House is a 18th-century building that has been altered over time. It stands two and a half storeys high and is constructed of rubble with some parts rendered. The building features later brick quoins and dressings, and has a hipped stone tile roof. The layout is T-shaped, with the south front having two windows on each side and modern casements, along with three central slits that provide light to the stairs. The west gable has a chimney that has been obscured by a later catslide roof added for the kitchen. The front of the house may have been remodeled in the mid-19th century, and it includes a taller T-plan extension with an attic at the rear. Inside, there is an inglenook with a fireplace that has a bread oven, and the single attic room is said to have been used as a cheese room.
