Description
The building is a Post Office located at No. 18 High Street in Wroughton, dating from the 18th century. It is two and a half storeys tall, constructed of red brick with black headers. The right-hand section is a separate building from the early 19th century, made of brick with a rubble gable end. The roof, which has been renewed, is tiled and hipped to the right, featuring two brick chimneys and two small dormers.
The windows include three on the left and one on the right, all of which are glazing bar sashes with flat brick arches. The left-hand block has a central mid-19th century doorpiece, which is adorned with attached fluted shafts to pilasters, a panelled frieze, and a cornice above a six-panel door with a wreath knocker. The right-hand block, which houses the Post Office, features a late 19th century shop front with four pilasters, a central door, two light flanking arcaded windows, and a corniced fascia.
