Description

No 18 High Street is an early to mid-18th century building constructed of rubble with stone quoins. It features a band over the ground floor and a tiled roof, which includes two gabled dormers. The gable ends have brick chimneys on weathered bases, with the left-hand chimney resting on a stone base. The building has a coved eaves cornice and stands two and a half storeys tall. There are four windows with moulded frames that hold glazing bar sashes. The central doorway is topped with a hood supported by richly carved consoles and has a panelled soffit. On either side of the doorway, there are two Victorian shop windows that are arcaded, with Corinthian caps on the dividing colonnettes. At the rear, there are long two-storey extensions with ridges of diminishing heights.
