Description
The Town Hall, located at No 59 on Broad Street, was remodeled in 1858 and is designed in the Perpendicular style. The building is constructed of squared, coursed rubble with freestone dressings and features a modern tiled roof.
The gabled front is adorned with crocketed pinnacles. At the first floor, there is a six-light mullioned window set beneath a square dripmould with returns. The ground floor has two-light windows, each under their own dripmoulds. A central door with a 4-centred arch completes the façade. It is noted that there was a town hall on this site in the 15th century, but the wing to the left, which has been recently remodeled, is not considered to be of special interest.
