Description
Chapel Cottage is a house located in the village street of Marshfield, dating from the mid-17th century. The exterior is rendered to resemble ashlar stone and features a double Roman tiled roof. The building has two storeys and includes two windows and a door on the left side. The windows are two- and three-light casements set in ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds, with two under drip moulds; one window has edge roll moulded surrounds and is topped with a cornice. The door, which is from the 20th century, is framed with an architrave and is sheltered by a flat stone hood supported by brackets. Chapel Cottage was formerly part of a burgess' house, sharing a historical connection with No. 80 nearby.
