Description
Hillhouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 17th century. It has a rendered exterior and a slate roof, with stone slates over the lower wing to the left. The building features rendered, paired diagonal stacks and is two storeys high with attics, topped by two steep gables that have ball finials. The layout follows a cross passage plan, with a hall to the left and two rooms to the right. The farmhouse has three bays, with three- and four-light casement windows that have wooden ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds. There is an off-centre 20th-century door located in a projecting porch. To the left, there is a lower two-storey, single bay wing that was formerly used as a dairy and cheese room.
