Description

Westover House is a late 18th-century house situated on the north side of Bitton Bath Road in Bitton. It has a double-saddle slated mansard roof with three dormers. The exterior is painted render. The house is two storeys high with five windows arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern. The ground floor has plate-glass sash windows, while the first floor windows are later wooden casements in reveals. A central square-headed doorway has a glazed door with a transom light, sheltered by a flat stone hood on brackets. Rusticated pilasters are present at the ends, and external features include a cornice and an ashlar parapet with coping. The west elevation has cornices above the windows. A “Cave Canem” inscription is visible.
