Description
The White Hart Inn is a 18th-century building located at 140 High Street, on the corner of Church Road. The main elevation faces north and features a rendered and grooved exterior designed to resemble ashlar stone. The roof is modern and covered with pantiles, with coped gables. The inn has two storeys and five windows, which are glazing bar sashes set within plain stone architraves, some of which have slight moulding. On the ground floor to the left, there is a flat-headed angular bay with fixed-light small-paned windows, a fascia, and a cornice. The central entrance has an architrave door opening topped with a stone slab hood supported by brackets. To the left, there is a plain end pilaster, a moulded cornice, and an ashlar parapet with coping. The return elevation facing Church Road includes a two-storey extension with one window, as well as an older mid-19th century brewhouse that has two louvred first-floor windows above double doors, also covered with a pantile roof.
