Description
The Old Vicarage and Old Coach House Wing is a well-proportioned red brick house with freestone dressings, dating from the 1770s or later. It features a modern double-saddle pantile roof with end gables that have copings, and brick stacks topped with stone caps. The symmetrical three-storey front has three sash windows with glazing bars set in reveals, flat stone heads with keystones, and stepped voussoirs.
At the center, there is a semi-circular headed door opening with a moulded surround, keystone, imposts, pilasters, and an open pediment on moulded brackets. The six-panelled door is topped by a traceried fanlight. The building has channelled end pilasters, a sill band for the first-floor windows, a moulded cornice, and a parapet with coping.
To the right, there is a two-storey wing with a hipped modern pantile roof, featuring two sash windows in semi-circular headed openings with rusticated stone architraves and stone emblems above the keys. Below this, there is a door with a stone emblem above the key. The forward-projecting coach-house wing has a hipped slate roof and a wide segment-headed opening with a rusticated stone surround on the north elevation. Exposed pipes are visible at the front, and there is a lead rainwater head at the rear.
The rear also features a hipped two-storey wing with a large ribbed chimney dating from the circa 1850s. Inside, there is a sweeping circular staircase at the rear with two balusters per tread and shaped tread-ends.
