Description

The Adams Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 4 metres north of the tower of the Church of St. Arilda. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge, fluted quarter balusters, and inscription panels on all sides, with double panels on the north and south. It has a moulded base. At the time of the survey in July 1984, the monument was noted to be in poor condition. It commemorates John Adams, who died in 1746, along with other family members.
