Description

No 70 on Rounceval Street is a building from the late 17th century, which may have been remodeled from an earlier cottage. It is constructed from coursed rubble featuring alternating bands of Pennant sandstone and limestone. The front has a slate hipped roof, while the rear has a steeply pitched slate roof. There is an ashlar stack. The building has two storeys and two windows; the first floor features glazing bar sashes, and the ground floor has a 20th-century shop window and door. The elevation facing Horseshoe Lane includes 2- and 3-light casements with cambered heads, using voussoirs made of alternating limestone and Pennant sandstone. This building is also known as No 1 Horseshoe Lane.
