Description
The Smith Chest Tomb, located 9 yards north of the chancel of St. James' Church, dates from around 1760 and is made of limestone ashlar. It features inscribed shield panels, panelled pilasters, an entablature, and a moulded cornice. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb forms and significantly enhances the setting of the church.
