Description

The pump and stand, dating from the 19th century, is located on the west side of The Green in Olveston. It features a cast iron pump mounted on a brick stand with a flat sandstone top. The pump is adorned with a decorative spout and a fluted finial, and its handle is painted black and white. Originally, the well was situated in the orchard to the west, but after the enclosure of The Green, the pump was installed at the roadside by Mr. Edwin Organ around 1870.
