Description

Port Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rubble and rendered, featuring pantiled roofs with gable stacks and one stack located to the right of the center. The rear single-storey extension has concrete double Roman tiles. The building is L-shaped and includes a through passage. It stands two storeys high and has four windows, all of which are three-light casements with segmental heads. The second bay from the left features a plank door with strap hinges set in a plain frame. To the left, there is a single-storey extension with a pitched roof, while the south side has three small windows at the ground floor, each a single light casement located at the center.

At the rear, there is a single-storey bakehouse with a plank door featuring strap hinges in a moulded frame. There is also a small projecting two-storey block to the right, which has a two-light casement on the first floor. The area between this block and the bakehouse is covered by a 20th-century roof and enclosed with 20th-century windows. The projecting block has a plank door with strap hinges on the side, at the rear of the through passage. On the first floor, there are two three-light casements with segmental heads and loop catches.

Inside, the farmhouse features plank and batten doors, and a winder stair located at the rear of the through passage. The central room contains a fine built-in dresser with three drawers and cupboards below, shaped ends, and two rows of dentils along the front of the shelves. There is also a cast iron pump with a decorative handle in full working order on the rear wall next to the bakehouse.
