Description
The former stable block, located approximately 20 metres north of Frenchay Manor, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of rubble with freestone dressings and features double Roman tile roofs. The building has an extended L-plan layout. The main elevation consists of two storeys with six windows and a central door set within a flat pedimented porch. The outer windows are in blocked archways, while above them are circular pitching eyes with four keystones. The remaining windows are 20th-century glazing bar sashes. The elevation also includes a parapet, a moulded cornice, and a hipped roof. The other road-facing elevations follow a similar pattern. The rear of the building has been transformed into 20th-century housing. This structure is included for its historical and group value with Frenchay Manor.
