Description

Wickwar Congregational Church is a Congregational chapel dated 1817, with restoration completed in 1919. The building is rendered and features a double Roman tiled roof. Its gable end faces the village street, showcasing ashlar stonework, a coped gable with kneelers, and ball finials. There are two 2-light round-headed windows with Gothick tracery, and a panelled door located in a gabled projecting porch. The side elevations have tall 2-light Gothick windows. At the rear, there is a church hall that is possibly from the late 18th century; it is a single storey structure with four 2-light Gothick windows. Inside, the church has a gallery at the west end, raised and fielded panelling, which is supported on cast iron columns.
