Description

The Court House is a house located in the village street of Marshfield, dating from the early to late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a slate roof that is hipped over a projecting east wing. The building has a coped parapet and a moulded cornice. It stands two storeys tall and includes two windows and a door on the main facade, along with two additional windows in the wing. The windows are glazing bar sash types set within moulded architraves that have cornices. The entrance consists of a six-panel door beneath a plain fanlight, topped with a broken pediment supported by brackets. The Court House is a notable example of a classical, almost Palladian, town house.
