Description
The brewhouse, now part of The Manor House, was built in the 17th century and was attached to the manor by Lieutenant Colonel Cooper around 1923, with later alterations. It is constructed of rubble with stone dressings and features a triple roll tiled roof with stone tiled dormers, raised coped verges, and kneelers. The building has one and a half storeys. The north elevation includes two 2-light casements with ovolo mullions and hood moulds at the ground floor, a large gable to the right with a similar 3-light casement, and a single light window at the ground floor left with a 2-light dormer above that has a hipped roof. It is connected to the manor house by a corridor designed in the same style, featuring a stone tiled roof, a door, and a window with similar surrounds. The south side has two 2-light dormers, along with a similar door and window. There is a single storey wing to the south that has various 20th-century windows and doors, as well as a large wooden bolection-moulded door frame with a plain door that is in a very decayed condition. Inside, there is a large fireplace with a chamfered lintel, stone jambs, and impost blocks.
