Description

Rose Oak Farmhouse is a farmhouse of 17th-century origin, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The walls are rubble, rendered, and the roof is covered with double Roman tiles and pantiles. The main part of the house is two and a half storeys high with three windows. The ground floor has two 20th-century windows and a central gabled porch with a 20th-century door. On the first floor, there’s a 19th-century three-light wooden casement to the left, a small two-light casement under the eaves above the porch, and a larger two-light casement under the eaves to the right. A large gable rises to ridge height to the left, containing a four-pane window, and a raking dormer to the right with a two-light casement. There are gable stacks with paired diagonal chimneys. A one-and-a-half storey wing is attached to the right, featuring a 20th-century window at ground floor, a small lean-to, and a steep gable above with a 20th-century two-light window. A single-storey addition to the left has a door and a pantiled roof. Finally, a two-storey cross wing to the left has a two-light casement at ground and first floor within its gable end. The interior and rear of the property are not accessible.
