Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located in the churchyard about 6 metres east of the chancel of the Church of Holy Trinity. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge on a plinth. On the east and west sides, there are raised rectangular cartouches surrounded by an egg and dart motif. The south side has a raised circular cartouche with a scallop shell surround, while each side has a raised panel also with an egg and dart surround. The north side displays a raised square cartouche with a scallop shell surround and plain raised panels on each side. The tomb is adorned with plain corner pilasters, a moulded base, and a moulded cornice that is broken forward over the cartouches. At the time of the survey in August 1984, the tomb was noted to be in poor condition.
