Description
The School House and attached school room, now a house, was built in 1862 for the Beaufort Estate. It features coursed squared rubble with freestone dressings and a Cotswold stone slate roof with overhanging eaves and a central moulded stack. To the left is a single-storey school room with three-light cross windows that have a diamond glazing pattern. To the right is the one-and-a-half-storey school house, which includes a projecting gabled wing adorned with decorative bargeboards. Each elevation has one bay with two- and three-light casement windows, also with diamond glazing. There is a gabled porch in the re-entrant angle, featuring a plank door set in a chamfered surround with a segmented head. The west gable displays a shield with 'AD/1862' and a coronet over the letter 'B' (for Beaufort) on the north gable.
