Description
There are four chest tombs located 5 yards from the north porch of St Mary the Virgin church. These tombs date from the early 19th century and are made of ashlar stone. They feature panelled sides, pilaster strips or corner balusters, and a cornice. The tombs are dedicated to Iles, who died in 1812; Bennett and Limerick, both from 1821; and Brooks, who died in 1828. This collection represents a mix of classical and vernacular styles and significantly enhances the church's setting.
