Description
The Summers Chest Tomb, located 5 yards southeast of the Rood Stairtower of Holy Trinity Church, is a chest tomb dedicated to Sarah Summers, who died in 1787. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features inscribed panels adorned with drapery and C-scrolls, as well as corner balusters. The tomb has a moulded plinth and cornice. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb designs and significantly enhances the setting of the church.
