Description

Bank House is a late 16th century to early 17th century building located on the south side of High Street in Sodbury. It is constructed of rubble and features a double Roman tiled roof. The house has two storeys and attics, marked by two coped gables with finials. There are two windows consisting of 2-, 3-, and 4-light casements with moulded mullions, all situated under square dripmoulds with return stops. The upper windows still have their original leaded lights. A later panelled door is set within a plain stone architrave.

To the right of the main structure is a third, wider gable that was added after World War II, which covers a coach entry and is also made of rubble, featuring a 3-light mullion window.

Bank House is part of an important group of gabled houses that includes Nos 26 and 28.
