Description

The Woodward tomb is a chest tomb located 1 yard to the east of the south end of the south porch of the Parish Church of St Mary in Marshfield. It dates from 1774 and is made of limestone ashlar. The tomb features panelled sides, enriched pilasters, a moulded cornice, corner balusters, and curved ends. This tomb is part of a notable collection of classical and local tomb forms, enhancing the overall setting of the church.
