Description

This chest tomb, located 2 yards to the south of the south aisle of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, dates from 1718. It is made of ashlar and features panelled sides with a cornice, as well as a 'lyre end' that includes carved decoration. The tomb is an important example of classical and local tomb styles, enhancing the overall setting of the church.
